We heard about Moore’s Lodge from some friends of ours the Hoksbergen’s. They happened to be there at the same week that we were, so we had enjoyed having supper with them one night, borrowing their tube so the boys could do a little tubing, and hanging out with them on the beach our last day. We are excited to join them again next year at Moore’s!
Here is Aiden (Hoksbergen’s grandson) and Zachary warming up after swimming on a nearby sandbar.
Here is Hoksbergen’s granddaughter (I can’t remember her name) hanging out in the boat on our last day. She was such a cutie!
The strangest thing happened one night in the middle of the week. Our power went out at about 2:00 in the morning. We had the window air conditioner going and plenty of fans, so the sudden loss of power was very evident in our cabin. We went outside, but found no obvious reason why we lost power. Around 9:00 the next morning we finally saw the power company show up to fix the problem.
The problem . . . a flying squirrel hit the transformer. Yes, this now fried and very dead animal caused us to lose power. Who would have thought!
