day camp

On the Monday following vacation Callie headed off to day camp. Needless to say, this isn’t something that she voluntarily signed up for! I asked her back in early spring if she wanted to go, as is her standard answer, “no way!” I signed her up any way.

Callie had to be at camp every day at 8:30 a.m. which means the carpool needed to be leaving about 7:50 or so. We carpooled with 3 other families and it worked well.

If you asked her what her favorite part of camp was she would probably tell you it was the swimming every afternoon before they came home!

I think it was a good thing for her and continued to build her confidence (even if she did hang on her counselor the entire week).

One of my friends took her older son to overnight camp late on Monday afternoon, so she parked her van under a tree to watch the younger kids until it was time to pick them up. She took these pictures of Callie for me. You know, just to let me know she was doing okay!P1070712P1070715

On Friday afternoon we came early to watch each small group give a little skit (act out a short story from the Bible being read by their counselor).P1070732 P1070734 Here is Callie and her counselor for the week.
